About Microsoft

Founded in 1975, Microsoft (NASDAQ "MSFT") is the worldwide leader in software, services and Internet technologies for personal and business computing. The company offers a wide range of products and services designed to empower people through great software -- any time, any place and on any device.

About the Microsoft - HiSoftware Partnership

HiSoftware has been a Microsoft  Independent Software Vendor (ISV) since 1998, providing integrated solutions for Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Server and .Net solutions. HiSoftware Solutions for Microsoft dramatically reduce the time, cost, and complexity associated with building, deploying, and maintaining Web sites. HiSoftware content quality solutions provide “out-of-the-box” testing and reporting for Accessibility, Privacy, Searchability and Usability standards, empowering organizations using Microsoft Technologies to keep up with ever- changing Web technologies and standards.

Related Products: Several Microsoft product integrations exist for HiSoftware products. Please see our Integrations page for information on these products.

Accessibility Kit for SharePointŪ (AKS)

HiSoftware has joined efforts with Microsoft to create the Accessibility Kit for SharePoint or AKS which provides reusable tools and components as well as documentation and tutorials to ensure that MOSS provides a basic solution for accessibility. The intellectual property, jointly owned by HiSoftware and Microsoft, is available as shared source code to the community through Codeplex. AKS significantly reduces the time, knowledge, and effort required to implement a SharePoint-based Web site that conforms to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 Priority 1 and 2 checkpoints, which are collectively known as WCAG 1.0 AA. The AKS can also be used to address the exceptions that have been identified in the U.S. government’s Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act’s Voluntary Product Accessibility Template or VPAT documents for MOSS 2007.
