Custom Validation and Reporting Solution
Offers Enhanced and Extendable Content
Policy Management Features for AccVerify
and AccMonitor Server - New feature
dramatically reduces the time, cost, and
complexity associated with building,
deploying, and maintaining accessible
and usable Web sites.
Concord, NH
—November 7, 2002-HiSoftware, Inc. today
announced the release of the development
environment for its Custom Validation
and Reporting engine, which enables the
creation and implementation of custom
Web site and Content policy validation
tests through AccVerify and AccMonitor
Server. The new custom Checkpoint Editor
and Custom Report Editor will allow
users to define specific accessibility,
usability, search-ability, and other
quality validation checks allowing for
validation of corporate policy. This is
designed to provide extensibility of the
current validation system provided in
AccVerify and AccMonitor to match any
specific need not covered by a publicly
available standard or guideline.
Test features, formats and customization
can be pre-configured by an
organization’s usability experts and/or
policy managers so that developers,
quality assurance professionals and
other content creators within the
organization, using AccVerify and
AccMonitor Server can simply run these
programmatic tests and receive a result,
without any requirement for software
configuration.
The custom validation and reporting
solution provides support for:
-
Custom guidelines
and policies allow for total
programmatic testing
-
Custom validation
supported for XML, HTML, XHTML, CSS,
XSL, SVG, JavaScript, VBScript, and
other text or element based content.
-
XML Accessibility
Guidelines (XAG)
-
Canadian
Government (CLF) Standards
-
Section 508
-
WCAG 1.0 (Priority
1-3)
-
Any standard
derived from WCAG or 508
Additional support is available for
testing for privacy policies, HIPAA
related compliance or other custom
organizational standards. More
information about this new validation
and reporting features for AccVerify and
AccMonitor is available at:

“The Custom Validation and Reporting
engines are designed for the testing of
simple and more complex content and Web
site policies,” said John Lutts,
HiSoftware Company Director of
Engineering. “Organizations can now
fully integrate their accessibility,
usability, and general content quality
testing through the same applications,
bringing full automation to policy
management and validation.”
The new feature will be included at no
additional cost as part of the upcoming
release of AccVerify and AccMonitor 5.0.
The module itself does not require
installation with AccVerify and
AccMonitor 5.0, so content quality teams
can create the tests and distribute them
for implementation by their Web and QA
teams. HiSoftware will also host a
custom test portal that will allow
developers to create and share custom
tests that they create. Additionally,
HiSoftware professional services staff
can either train developers in the
implementation of custom tests, or
alternatively can develop the custom
reports and checks for interested
customers.
The AccVerify and AccMonitor Server
applications provide full accessibility
test management for Section 508, W3C
WCAG and custom corporate usability and
quality standards. The final result is a
complete and concise report on the total
accessibility, quality and policy
compliance status of Web pages that have
been tested as well as a document to
stand by and present to the groups
coordinating these standards for an
organization. The software provides
unsurpassed team services, workflow
capabilities and a flexible, scalable
enterprise monitoring system.
