HiSoftware’s
TagGen Office 2005 Provides Advanced
Metadata Management and Enhanced
Search
New Release
Enhances Corporate Metadata, Search
and Document Policy Management
Concord, NH
December 27, 2004 – HiSoftware, Inc.,
the leader in enterprise content
quality management solutions, today
announced the upcoming release of
TagGen® Office 2005. TagGen Office
2005 represents the next generation of
metadata and search management
solutions from HiSoftware, providing a
complete software solution for
developing and maintaining metadata
schemas, creating metatags, verifying
compliance and creating a metadata
index and Search facility.
TagGen Office 2005
allows organizations to implement
industry standard or custom metadata
schemas for their electronic
documents, regardless of the document
format. It also enables organizations
to categorize and index digital
content, resulting in better/faster
search and retrieval of information
via a corporate Intranet, Extranet or
the Internet. Metadata, which adds the
same type of intelligent tagging to
documents that card catalogs supply
about books, is the key to organizing
and leveraging corporate knowledge.
These solutions allow users to create
a portal-style index of documents that
can be created, searched and modified
on the fly.
The solution
includes three components, TagGen
Professional, which allows for the
creation, implementation and
validation of metadata schemas, TagGen
Server, formerly Metadata Server™,
which provides the ability for
scheduled and automated rule based
metadata propagation across HTML and
Office documents, and TagGen Catalog,
formerly Hi-Search™, which provides a
facility for the creation of Custom
Search Catalogs for distribution,
search and retrieval across
organizational Intranets, Extranets
and Internet sites.
“TagGen Office
2005 represents the most complete
metadata solution ever offered by any
organization”, said Robert B.
Yonaitis, CEO and President of
HiSoftware Company. “TagGen Office
2005 makes it easy for organizations
to develop, implement and verify
compliance with a consistent,
customizable search policy that allows
users to quickly and accurately find
the information they need using
fielded searching.”
TagGen Office 2005
also allows for the creation of XML
records which allows users to catalog,
search and retrieve resources,
described using the Dublin Core
Metadata Element Set that would not
normally be searched. This
functionality enables advanced search
of resources described in XML-that
have no native ability for Metadata to
be embedded within them, including
pictures, maps, PDF documents and
images.
TagGen Office 2005
provides an affordable and scalable
solution for management of search and
policy verification initiatives across
small, medium and enterprise
organizations. HiSoftware’s
enterprise metadata solutions assist
organizations in achieving and
maintaining Web sites in compliance
with organizational standards for
searchability and custom metadata
policies. These solutions help
organizations develop long-term
strategies to achieve Web content
searchability and quality. They allow
multiple users to work collaboratively
on Web site content policy
implementation and testing-resulting
in reductions in time and resources.
