University of
Wisconsin Extends System Wide License
for HiSoftware Solutions to Ensure
Site Quality and Accessibility for
College Web Sites
CONCORD, NH –
March 31, 2005 -- HiSoftware, Inc.,
the leader in enterprise Web
Accessibility and Content Quality
solutions, today announced that
University of Wisconsin System has
extended their State Wide license for
HiSoftware’s desktop and automated
server solutions. This extends a
licensing agreement that the UW System
originally entered into in April of
2004 through April 0f 2006 fiscal
year. These solutions allow
Universities to audit Web sites, Web
applications and Web based courses for
accessibility and content quality.
Under the terms of
the agreement, HiSoftware Company will
provide its AccMonitor Server
Enterprise software to each of the
campuses within the UW System, and the
Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
HiSoftware will also provide
system-wide licenses of
AccVerify/AccRepair DS2 desktop
software for use on any
administration, faculty and student
PCs.
HiSoftware’s
product line includes a combination of
user-driven interactive desktop
solutions that allow developers to
test their content for conformance
with standards and server side remote
applications that allow for automated
and remote testing. In addition to
“out-of-the-box” testing and reporting
for Accessibility, Privacy, Metadata,
Site Structure and Usability
standards, HiSoftware solutions allow
an organization’s experts and/or
policy managers to define content
policies and then provides a solution
to validate compliance with these
policies. HiSoftware solutions allow
users to monitor Web sites for data
collection, security and sharing
practices, opt-in and opt-out choices,
broken links, missing privacy
policies, third party linking, P3P and
the use of tracking technologies. The
final result is a complete and concise
report on the total accessibility,
quality and policy compliance status
of content that has been tested.
UW’s
implementation of HiSoftware’s
Solution set will allow for:
-
Automated
Testing and Monitoring of Entire
Sites for compliance with Federal,
State and International
accessibility standards
-
The creation of
course-based reports
-
Feedback for
instructors in a reporting format
that is clear and easy to understand
-
Training of
developers to verify and repair
their own sites
-
Creation of an
audit trail for their accessibility
pilot program
-
Implementation
of a standard format for feedback on
their Web sites
