This hands-on course
covers the
process-based
functionality of
Hi-Caption Studio.
Students completing
this 4 hour course
will be able to
create captioning
files for multimedia
presentations. This
course is designed
to train individuals
to make the most
effective use of
these powerful tools
toward achieving and
maintaining
multimedia
presentations with
captioning for the
following reasons:

accessibility
compliance.

where text is

Hi-Caption creates a
SAMI file that will
be used by Windows®
Media Player® 6.4
and greater. SAMI
stands for
Synchronized
Accessible Media
Interchange, a
captioning language
for Media Player.
From a SAMI file,
Hi-Caption can now
create a SMIL file
designed for
captioning and used
by RealNetworks
RealPlayer and Apple
Quicktime. SMIL
stands for
Synchronized
Multimedia Language.
It can create a SMIL
file based on the
1.0 or 2.0 SMIL
specifications. Also
included is the
software are the
Hi-Caption Viewer
and AccRepair for
Macromedia® Flash.
This allows for
captioning within
Flash and
accessibility
compliance testing
for Flash
Multimedia. Students
completing this
course will be able
to use the
Hi-Caption software
to take their
multimedia
presentation to new
levels by expanding
their audience and
meeting
accessibility
compliance
guidelines.
